Gateways To Better Living Testimonials

See What Everyone’s Talking About

“I like Gateways because I like how we go on activities, they serve good food, and the staff helps me when I need it.  I also like the games that we play, and we sometimes paint and draw and make little things. I have my favorite chair that I love to sit in and I laugh a lot with everyone. I love Gateways!”

“Habitat for Humanity of Mahoning Valley (HFHMV) builds homes in the tri-county area to provide low-income individuals and families with affordable housing. HFHMV homes are built by volunteers. The clients at Gateways To Better Living have worked on houses in Warren, Struthers, and Boardman. They have done work that includeds painting, landscaping, and some of the heavy lifting! The house in boardman will become a home for Angel Thmpson and her two children. The work they have done for Angel and her family is invaluable and makes their dream of homeownership a reality!”

“This is one of the best places I have been in. The staff pays attention to us and doesn’t ignore us. I love when the staff takes me places, such as Applebees, Olive Garden, Perkins and Bob Evans as well as the movies, Disney on Ice, hockey games and Christmas shopping. I also love when the workshop has parties and everyone is happy and dancing. I love you all!”

“I decided to come to Gateways because we are always doing things to keep us busy and we get to choose what activities we want to do. I also chose Gateways because it is structured and there is a calendar so you always know what you are doing for the day that week. I like Gateways because all of the staff and directors are very nice. I also like Gateways because you always have something to do and you will never be bored.”

“Ohio Turnpike’s Native Pollinator Garden Project that Gateways participated in on May 19, 2017. The crew and crew leaders did a fantastic job helping with the planting.  Everyone was so cooperative and hard-working.  Their Gateways shirts were an added touch and made them look so professional.  A comment was made during the press event by the Turnpike Infrastructure Commission Director, Randy Cole, that when they had done a similar planting a year previously it took that group much longer to complete the task than did the volunteers who helped this past May.”

“The Gateways staff is caring, patient, kind and considerate of all of our daughter’s needs. They treat her as part of their own family and as her parents there is nothing more important.  We feel assured that she is treated in the manner, she and all the individual residents at Gateways, deserve to be treated.”
